Melody Hays
With a career spanning over two decades in higher education, nonprofit, and healthcare sectors, Melody has made significant contributions in roles related to education and faculty development through live classroom instruction, virtual settings, and through the dramatic arts. Currently, she serves as the Director of Learning and Faculty Development for CTRC. Based in the Hendersonville office, she supports the CTRC Faculty and works across all locations.
Her passion to see others reach their full potential has guided her career. Most recently, she worked with worldwide leaders in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry building competencies in Medical Affairs; and prior to that, for healthcare professionals providing continuing professional development opportunities through UNC Health Sciences at MAHEC in Asheville.
In 2020, after deployment to an all virtual work environment, her passion for fostering innovation in teaching and learning was solidified. She developed further expertise in instructional design, acknowledging how close-knit the world of global learners becomes when Zoom is the classroom setting.
Melody holds certificates in grant writing, e-learning design, and adult learning approaches. She received her Bachelor’s in Communication with a focus on Theater from Goshen College and a Master’s in Speech Communication from Miami University of Ohio. As an Association of Talent Development member, she actively advances her own skills and supports teams toward their success.
